Calgary-based challenger bank

Neo Financial

is partnering with

United Airlines

to release the United MileagePlus Neo World Elite Mastercard, a new

credit card

with multiple rewards and travel benefits for Canadians.

Set to launch in April 2026, the United MileagePlus Neo World Elite Mastercard will add to the digital bank’s core credit-card lineup, which includes the Neo Mastercard, Neo World Mastercard and Neo World Elite Mastercard — each with different tiered benefits such as cashback, purchase protection and travel perks.

Neo Financial is a Canadian fintech company that offers multiple online banking products and services, including credit cards, mortgages, portfolio management and high-interest and everyday bank accounts. It was co-founded in 2019 by chief executive Andrew Chau, Chris Simair, head of operations, Jeff Adamson, chief commercial officer, and CTO Kris Read. The group previously launched the Canadian food delivery platform SkipTheDishes.

Mastercard

‘s World Elite-tier credit cards often require a higher income and come with higher annual fees. According to the terms and conditions, customers must be Canadian residents and have a minimum personal income of $80,000 or a household income of $150,000.

However, the premium fees come with premium benefits. The Neo World Elite Mastercard, for example, offers purchase protection, travel benefits and cashback on essentials and nonessentials. The upcoming co-branded card with United Airlines will offer Canadians priority boarding, a free checked bag and “even more value to travellers,” said Adamson.

Additionally, cardmembers will earn more miles when booking with a Star Alliance airline (members include Air Canada, Lufthansa, Air India and more than 20 other international carriers) and will join United Airlines’ MileagePlus loyalty program. The program allows cardholders to gain and redeem miles on eligible flights, and access other exclusive benefits such as free checked bags, seat upgrades, accelerated boarding and more depending on membership status.

Alongside airline rewards, cardholders will also gain access to Neo Financial’s rewards network. The bank has over 10,000 partners across Canada, including restaurants and gas stations, each with different purchase offers and cashback rewards.

Co-branded airline rewards cards are a staple for frequent flyers, and with the United MileagePlus Neo World Elite Mastercard, Neo Financial is cementing themselves into the market for airline benefits and daily savings for a new range of Canadian customers.

“The United MileagePlus Neo World Elite Mastercard card will add a powerful new option for Canadians who want to turn everyday effort into meaningful travel rewards,” said Adamson.
